Well, our 1 year anniversary has come and gone. I still can not believe we got married 365 (now 366) days ago!! It has flown by faster than I ever thought it would. But, back to yesterday, our anniversary...it was such a fun, special day, thanks to my husband. Here is a recap:
So sweet...
Around 11:30 I got a call from the receptionist at my office that there was a special delivery for me. My husband had flowers delivered to me :) They are so beautiful and are currently making my cubicle smell like a rose garden!
We had lunch together (our offices are only a few blocks apart) at one of my favorite restaurants in Houston, Yia Yia Mary's! Best.hummus.in.the.world.
Once we got home from work we immediately got out our bottle of Dom Perignon that was given to us my my husband's Dad right before our wedding. Dom Perignon deserves to be served in nice crystal so I broke out our Waterford toasting flutes that we used at our reception. We drank champagne and watched the highlights video from our wedding.
(I have no clue how to post videos on blogger so here is a link to our highlights video from You Tube)

Next up, our gifts to each other! I originally wanted to stick with the traditional paper gift for our 1st anniversary but ended up doing something non-paper related as well. I got him few of our wedding pictures framed for his office (paper gift 1) and I made a jar full of memories from 5.7.11-5.7.12. I wrote out words on little hearts of things we have done this past year and places we had been (paper gift 2). And for his main gift I gave him a Scotty Cameron Putter that he has wanted for as long as I have known him. He is a big golfer and has been talking about this one putter for YEARS...well, now he finally has one :)
Along with the flowers from earlier in the day, he gave me a Nook Tablet!! I LOVE it!! He knows how much I use my regular Nook so he knew I would love an upgraded version of it. PLUS, it is just like a mini Ipad! :) YAY!!
I knew we had dinner reservations somewhere but I had no clue where. After driving my husband crazy with questions he finally gave in and told me where we were going....he had made reservations at the restaurant where we had our first date, Jasper's. :) We were both still pretty full from lunch and champagne so we ended up ordering appetizers, soups and desert instead of entrees. And of course- wine! We had Tomato Basil soup with goat cheese, BBQ Peach Chicken flatbread, Rock Shrimp & Chili Sauce and Apple Pie Bread Pudding. YUMMMM!!
And last but not least, we ate our the top of our wedding cake! We were so stuffed from dinner but we forced our selfs to each have one bite. It was not as bad as I thought it would be, considering it was not wrapped very well in the freezer for the past year.
Not that we have not already done plenty of celebrating, but we head to Cancun & Isla Mujeres in just a little over 2 weeks for our anniversary trip! So excited for a much needed beach vacation with my hubby!
What a fun day celebrating and a fun 365 days!

This is such amazing post. I also have to find the affordable yet spacious indoor Venues in NYC for hosting our one year engagement anniversary. We will get married in next year so we want to celebrate each milestone of being together.
