My Very Last Bump Update- 40 Weeks!

How far along? 40 weeks, 2 days....my due date has come and gone.....

How big is baby?  The size of a pumpkin!  19-22 inches, 6-9 lbs.  At my doc. appt. on Wednesday my doctor estimated that baby was about 8.5-9 lbs.  Yikes!

Total weight gain/loss?  +17 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  That is all I can wear....maxi dresses, skirts, tank tops

Stretch Marks?  My sides and boobs and just noticed this week I have them on my lower stomach.  Boo.  I have used really good lotions and creams thru my whole pregnancy and they haven't worked.

Sleep?   Much better the past week! Even though I wake up at least 3-4 times to use the bathroom, I go back to sleep easily and feel rested when I get up every day.

Miss anything?  I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again!  Same as every week...I miss not being in constant pain and miss walking normal.

Movement?  He is still moving all day, every day. I think he must be really hyper-active....I always read that at this stage you may not feel their movements as much because they have ran out of room.  Not the case for my little man...he moves ALL THE TIME.  I don't have to worry about counting kicks!

Food Cravings?  Nothing new...still ice, anything cold, pasta

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Meat in general.  This has been constant since the week I found out I was pregnant (4 weeks).

Have you started to show yet?  My belly is HUGE!

Gender?   Baby boy!! Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs? 2 times in the past week I actually thought something might be happening....Saturday night and Tuesday morning.  I was having the worst cramps in my entire life.  I couldn't walk, I could barely breath, I would cry out in pain if I even moved...it was awful.  I would have a mixture of sharp cramps and Braxton Hicks and they would just all run together so I couldn't really time them.  But eventually it would get better so I never went to the hospital.

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat and so stretched out.

Mood?  SO excited and happy that baby boy will be here in the next 4 days or less!  I am feeling a little anxious and nervous about the whole labor, delivery and recovery process.

Symptoms?
Cramping, braxton hicks, heartburn, slight swelling in hands, a lot of pressure and pain down below, hot flashes.  In church on Sunday I had to get up and leave about 20 minutes into the service...I was dripping sweat and starting to feel nauseous.  And new this week-  A couple brown spots (mask of pregnancy is what it's called I think??) have shown up on the right side of my face.

Wedding rings still on?  Officially off :(  They made until 39 weeks then had to come off once I started really struggling to get them off at night.

Best moments of the week?
- Celebrating Mother's Day on Sunday
- I had a great pre-natal massage on Friday :)
-  We brought all the baby equipment downstairs to the living room....our downstairs is looking much different these days, filled with swings, diapers, the pack n play, etc... All ready for when we bring Connor home next week!

Me & my Mom after lunch on Mother's Day

Looking forward to?
- Enjoying our last weekend as a family of 2!
- Having this sweet baby boy sometime in the next 4 days and bringing him home, hopefully around this time next week, or sooner!
- Getting to spend tomorrow morning with my 3 best friends!  :)
-Honestly???  Not being pregnant anymore.  I know recovery will be tough for a few weeks, but I am looking forward to losing the baby weight, running again and feeling like my old self.
- My dad & step mom coming in town at the beginning of the week.

Doctor Appt. Update-
I had my 4th and FINAL weekly appt. Wednesday morning!  Can't believe that 10 months worth of baby appt's is over.   I went into my doc. appt knowing that I had to be dilated given how much pain I had been in the past week.  But, nope...still nothing.  I am at a big fat 0 and his head is still high.  So, even though there is a chance I could still dilate and go into labor on my own, we don't think that is going to happen.  I am all set to check in to the hospital at 7 PM on Sunday.  They will insert the Cervidil and hope it dilates me overnight.  Then my doctor will come in to see me early Monday morning and she will HOPEFULLY be able to break my water, start me on Pitocin and get things going.  She did tell me she won't make me lay around all day not making any progress....so if by mid-day I am not making any progress, we will start planning for a c-section sometime Monday afternoon.

So this was my last bump update!! I didn't do as good of a job keeping up with the weekly bump pics and updates as I had hoped but oh well! :)  I have one more post planned before baby comes, and I will try to do a post once Connor arrives next week, then I will probably take a couple weeks off from blogging as we adjust to having a newborn at home.
Thank you for following along with me the past 10 months and thank you for all the sweet comments and emails! xoxo

Bump Update- 39 Weeks!

(Picture taken on 5.8.13 @ 39 weeks, 1 day)

How far along? 39 weeks, 2 days..... 5 days till my due date!!

How big is baby?  The size of a watermelon....19-22 inches, 6-9 lbs

Total weight gain/loss?  +15 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes....thank goodness for maxi dresses and skirts!  Old Navy, GAP and Target are my go-to maternity stores.

Stretch Marks?  Sides and boobs.

Sleep?   The past 2 weeks it has been pretty good....but only because of the medicine I have to take at night so I don't cough all night long.  I have had a terrible cold for going on 2 weeks and nights are the worst so my doctor has me on some good (and safe) stuff to help me sleep!

Miss anything?  Just about everything. HA! I would love a margarita, I would love to walk normal again, I miss being able to stand up and move around easily, I miss running A LOT... you name it.    But, I know I have less than 2 weeks left so I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Movement?  All the time :)  I have started taking a few videos of my belly when he is really active and I realized this week just how much I touch my belly.  I am starting to see why people say they miss being pregnant....  Honestly, I don't think I will miss being pregnant but I will definitely miss the kicks and feelings when he is moving all over the place.

Food Cravings?  Ice, Mac & Cheese, fruit, anything cold.... and random craving in the past 2 weeks- Swiss Cake Rolls.  I have not had those in years but I saw them in the store 2 weeks ago and immediately had to have them.  Pretty sure I ate one in the car on the way home from the store.

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Meat in general.  Most nights I want anything that does not have meat in it.

Have you started to show yet?  My belly is HUGE!

Gender?   BOY!!!

Labor Signs? The past few days I have had an increase in painful braxton hicks.  A few times they stopped me in my tracks and I had to sit down right away and breathe thru them.  They have not been regular at all though.  Still having a lot of pressure and pain "down there" and have a hard time walking normal. Since I have not worked in a few months I feel like I have been nesting for awhile but in the past week it has gone to a whole other level and I have had more energy.  Hoping that is a good sign!

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  Pretty good...happy, excited, a little anxious/nervous now that I am in the last days!

Symptoms?
Braxton Hicks, lots of pressure and pain down below, bad head cold, aching hands

Wedding rings still on?  Still on!

Best moments of the week?
- Celebrating our 2 year anniversay on Tuesday!  We watched our wedding video and our engagement video, hubby brought me beautiful red roses, and we had an awesome dinner at Flemming's Steakhouse....this preggo lady ate 1 lb of crab legs.  Eeeek! Probably more seafood than I should have eaten at one time being preggo, but it was just so good and I had not had seafood in weeks so I couldn't resist.
- The nursery is done!  And we love it!  I posted about it a few days so check it out if you haven't already.
- All the things I wanted to have done before Connor's arrival, are done.  We are officially ready.

Looking forward to?
Having this baby sometime in the next 12 days at the most!
Celebrating Mother's Day this weekend
Having a much needed massage tomorrow morning :) It will probably be the last one for awhile..

Doctor Appt. Update-
I had my 3rd weekly appt. yesterday afternoon......still not much progress.  I am not dilated at all and my cervix is 70% effaced.  Doc said she can feel his head now but it is still too high...he is not "locked and loaded" in place.  Baby's heartbeat was good...my blood pressure was perfect.   I have my next appt. next Wednesday (I will be 40 weeks, 1 day) and if I am still not dilated then I am scheduled to check in to the hospital on Sunday night, the 19th and they will induce on Monday morning, the 20th.  Of course I would love for him to come on his own and come sooner rather than later...but there is something nice about having it planned too.  So, we will just wait and see what happens!  No matter what he will be born on or before May 20th! Whohooooo!!

Bump Update- 37 Weeks!

How far along? FULL TERM....37 weeks, 1 day..... 20 days left!!

How big is baby?  About the size of a watermelon....19-22 inches.  At my doc. appt. on Monday we had an ultrasound to see about how much he weighs and she estimated he was close to 7 lbs!

Total weight gain/loss?  +15 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Every day.   I live in maxi skirts, tank tops and maxi dresses these days!  Thankfully there is some really cute stuff out there for Spring and Summer.

Stretch Marks?  Sides and boobs.

Sleep?   God is definitely trying to prepare me for when Connor arrives.  Sleep doesn't happen much these days.  Tylenol PM doesn't even work as well as it used to.

Miss anything?  After the past 2 weeks I have had, I miss EVERYTHING.... sleeping, not going to the bathroom every 30 minutes, not being in pain, you name it....

Movement?  I read something this week about how at this stage the baby usually sleeps anywhere from 16-20 hours a day.  Totally not the case for Connor...he moves allllll day long and all night.  I rarely go for an hour where I don't feel him.  That will be what I will miss most about being pregnant.

Food Cravings?  Ice, Banana Split (someone posted a pic on Instagram of a banana split last week and ever since then I have wanted one!), pasta

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Meat in general.  Most nights I want anything that does not have meat in it.

Have you started to show yet?  My belly is HUGE!

Gender?   BOY!!!

Labor Signs? Painful braxton hicks, intense pelvic/who-ha pain

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  I have had a few breakdowns the past week... I am pretty miserable and limited on what I can do so I've been pretty down.  And I cry at just about anything.  My hormones are definitely crazier than they have been throughout the rest of the pregnancy!

Symptoms?
TERRIBLE pelvic bone/who-ha pains and pressure, unable to walk much, restless legs, aching hands and wrists.  I woke up this morning with a sore throat and bad cough too.

Wedding rings still on?  Still on!  I have had a few days in the past 2 weeks where I could not get them off though, but that usually just happens after I have been standing for too long or if I am in the heat.

Best moments of the week?
-The nursery is almost finished and we absolutely LOVE it! Can't wait to do a whole post and share it with you :)
-We had an ultrasound on Monday and got to see him for the first time in a long time. He is head down still and facing my back so we couldn't see too much but still amazing seeing his big head, belly, spine and little feet.
-Hubby and I spent a couple hours on the lake on Sunday.  The lake is one of our favorite places to be and the weather was beautiful so we took the boat out and enjoyed some time just the 2 of us.  And I got to work on my tan :)
-Last Thursday night we went to my husband's company's employee appreciation dinner in Houston and at the end they surprised us with a ton of gifts for Connor!  We were so surprised and feel so lucky to have such great, generous people in our lives.  We are officially completely stocked with everything we need!

Looking forward to?
-Giving birth!!! haha :)  Seriously though.... I am SO ready and so excited.
-Finishing the nursery this week
-Next doc. appt on Monday, 4/29

Doctor Appt. Update-
At our appt on Monday she checked to see if I was dilated for the first time.....and nope, I am at a big fat 0 still.  And she could not feel his head so she said I probably have a ways to go.  We had an ultrasound to see how big he was and confirm that he is head down.  Doc. said he has a big belly :)  My blood pressure is perfect, his heart rate is perfect...so everything is good!
She did tell me that once I was at 2 cm. she would induce if I wanted her too, but she would prefer if I just let him come on his own.  So, we'll just see how miserable I am when that time comes...if it comes!
But she did say that no matter what she will not let me go too far past my due date...a week at the absolute most.

Bump Update- 35 weeks!

Hi, friends!!! I have turned into the worst blogger ever...I know.  Growing a baby is hard work! ;)  Between keeping busy with house and nursery projects, feeling pretty bad most days and trying to rest a lot, blogging has taken a back seat lately.  I hope to keep posting at least once a week thru the end of my pregnancy and get back into it more once Connor arrives and we get into a little bit of a routine.

Moving on to my 35 week bump update...
(Bump at 34 weeks)

(Bump yesterday at 35 weeks)

How far along?  35 weeks, 1 day!  34 DAYS LEFT...holy cow!

How big is baby?  About the size of a large cantaloupe...19-22 inches, 5 1/2 lbs

Total weight gain/loss?  Somehow managed to lose 3 lbs in the past 2 weeks.  So, total weight gain- 11 lbs.

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes.

Stretch Marks?  Still on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?   Waking up every couple of hours to use the bathroom and still having to take Tylenol PM pretty much every night.

Miss anything?  I would kill for a margarita :)  This whole pregnancy I have not missed alcohol until now.  Springtime and this weather make me want to sit on a patio and drink a big ole margarita!  The thing I miss the most...not being in pain all day, every day.

Movement?  All the time! I love laying on my back or side and watching him rock n roll in my belly.

Food Cravings?  Ice, margaritas, mac & cheese, spaghetti, strawberries

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Still red meat.  I haven't eaten a steak in 9 months and only eat hamburger meat sparingly.

Have you started to show yet?  Oh yeah

Gender?   BOY!!! Connor Christopher

Labor Signs? Painful braxton hicks, intense pelvic/who-ha pain

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  Super emotional the past few days but still happy and in a good mood.  I have been lucky not to have crazy, raging mood swings or too many crying bouts the past 9 months but something definitely changed the past few days.  I have cried more in the past 3 days than I have in the past year combined.

Symptoms?
Acid Reflux and heartburn, nausea, aching hands, hot flashes, restless legs, hip, tailbone and pelvic bone pain, low blood pressure.....you name it.  I am a walking pregnancy book ;)

Wedding rings still on?  Still on!

Best moments of the week?
We have gotten a lot of little projects done around the house and nursery.  I am feeling much more prepared for when Connor comes!  And 3 friends gave birth to healthy babies yesterday and today!  It has been so fun going thru this pregnancy with so many people that are pregnant and due close to me and now they are all starting to go into labor.  Totally makes me jealous though :) hehe
I am almost finished with my hospital bag and Connor's too!  Daddy just needs to do his.

Worst moment of the week?
I threw up in the middle of my massage yesterday morning.  That was awful and embarrassing.  I woke up yesterday feeling bad so I should have just canceled my appt but I didn't.  When the massage first started I got really hot and broke out in a sweat over my whole body.  The massage therapist noticed and immediately took the heavy blankets off me and turned a fan on my face.  Right about that time, I leaned over the edge of the table and threw up on the floor.  Ughhh.

Looking forward to?
My next doc. appt on 4/22....we will have an ultrasound and my doctor will start checking me for progress!! YIPPY!!
And looking forward to finishing some projects around the house and getting some landscaping done...hopefully all before Connor arrives!

Hope y'all are having a great week! xo

Week 33 Bump Update!

(Picture taken at 33 weeks, 1 day)

How far along?  33 weeks and 2 days!   47 days to go!

How big is baby?  Approximately 19-22 inches and getting closer to 5 lbs....about the size of a pineapple!

Total weight gain/loss?  As of Monday 3/25, +14 lbs.  I gained 3 lbs in the past 2 weeks...eeek!

Maternity Clothes?  That is all I can wear.

Stretch Marks?  Still on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?   If I don't take Tylenol PM, I don't sleep :(  So, as much as I hate taking it, I take it almost every night.  My doctor (and the Internet) has assured me it is ok.  Taking a warm bath before bed helps me relax but not get to sleep.  Still waking up 4-5 times a night to use the bathroom and due to the back/tailbone/hip pain I can't get comfortable.

Miss anything?  Not being in pain!!  And I can't wait to walk normal again :)

Movement?  So much!  I am learning his sleep patterns too.  I know once I wake up in the morning and my husband and I start talking, he will wake up....happens every day!   He is getting the hiccups a lot more these days too....he has them right now as I type this :)

Food Cravings?  Ice, Ice, Ice.... I stop by Sonic ALL.THE.TIME for a huge cup of their ice and I would get to our baby class 20 minutes early each week just so I could go by the cafeteria and get a cup of ice (hospital ice is just like Sonic ice!) before they closed.    I could eat Mac & Cheese and strawberries for every meal too.

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  My belly is gigantic. Yesterday I was looking at myself in the mirror and I can definitely tell that baby and I went thru a growth spurt in the past week.  I know it is going to happen but I just can't imagine getting any bigger.

Gender?  Baby boy!  CCC :)

Labor Signs?  Just braxton hicks when I stand too long or do too much.

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  It's been a rough few days....I am in a lot of pain and having a hard time moving around and getting things done so that has been a little discouraging.  BUT I am so happy that we have just 6-7 weeks left....there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Symptoms?
The newest....restless legs and arms.  I was so thankful that I made it thru this whole pregnancy without having to deal with that but that changed this week!  When I try to sleep or if I sit still too long, my legs and hands start to get antsy and restless.  Still having the back and tailbone pain but it got a lot worse the past few days.  I may have to start going to the chiro more than once a week.

Wedding rings still on?  Yes, still on!  I guess since I have every other symptom in the world, God decided to give me a break and not give me any swelling ;)  YET, at least....

Best moments of the week?
We had our Couples Shower in Dallas over the weekend!  We had a fun weekend with our Dallas friends and we got some great gifts :)
We also finished our 4 week childbirth class!  We both feel much more prepared for what is too come.

Looking forward to?
The weekend!  My husband has 3 days off and we have a full day reserved for putting together all the baby equipment, working in the nursery and finishing a couple house projects.  Also looking forward to celebrating Easter with family on Sunday and a friend's wedding on Saturday!

Maternity Pics Reveal & 32 Week Bump Update!

This past Sunday we had our maternity session with Kaleigh Karin Photography and I am so excited to share a few of our pictures with you! =)   Kaleigh is a good friend from high school and she has been with us thru my entire pregnancy....she did our bump announcement, gender reveal and after Connor is born, she will do his newborns.  If you are looking for a photographer in the Spring/Woodlands area (Texas) I highly recommend you contact her!
All pictures are taken at Old Town Spring in Spring, TX and a field that Kaleigh found in Spring.
Here are the pictures we have seen so far!  She is still working on editing the others so I will share more eventually =)

(All pictures taken on 3/17/13 at 31 weeks, 5 days)

And now for my 32 week bump update!

How far along?  32 weeks and 2 days.  54 days to go!!

How big is baby?  Approximately 18-19 inches and about 4.5 lbs....the size of a honeydew

Total weight gain/loss?  11 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Everyday!

Stretch Marks?  Still on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?   Not so great.  I toss and turn all night long and get up to use the bathroom at least 4-5 times.  I have started taking a nap mid afternoon so that helps me not feel quite so exhausted all the time.   I have to take a warm bath before bed every night or there is no chance I will fall asleep.

Miss anything?  I miss moving around easily....everything is difficult these days...standing up, bending over, getting dressed, shaving (nearly impossible), you name it.

Movement?  All the time!

Food Cravings?  Macaroni & Cheese, strawberries, Chick-Fil-A sweet tea

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  Um yes, my stomach is huge.

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  Strong braxton hicks some days, terrible, terrible pubic bone pain. We had a scare on Saturday morning and had to go to the hospital but I will get more into that below.

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  Happy and excited!! I just can't believe that he will be here in 7-8 weeks or less! Time is flying by!

Symptoms?
You name it and I am dealing with it probably ;)  The worst is the tailbone, lower back and pubic bone pain.  Still dealing with heartburn, hip pain, exhaustion, queasiness in the mornings and just overall a feeling of being uncomfortable all day every day...unless I am in the bathtub.  The best I feel is when I take a bath...which sometimes happens 3-4 times a day.  I can't wait until our pool is warm enough to swim in.  I will probably stay in it several hours every day!!

Wedding rings still on?  Yes, still on!  I guess since I have every other symptom in the world, God decided to give me a break and not give me any swelling ;)  YET, at least....

Best moments of the week?
Our maternity pictures!! They were so fun and we absolutely loved how they turned out.  Can't believe the next pictures we take will be the newborns.

Looking forward to?
Our couples shower in Dallas this weekend

Crazy moment of the week:
Well, my MIL had to be admitted to the hospital on Thursday night for some stomach issues so from Thursday night-Saturday afternoon, my husband and I were in and out of the hospital several times a day.
On top of that.....Saturday morning I felt great and headed out to run some errands.  I got home late morning and went to use the bathroom when I noticed something different.  (Sorry if this is TMI!! I will try to leave out all of the gross details).  Basically, I thought my water broke....things were not normal down there so I decided to call my doctor just to let them know what was going on and see if I needed to do anything.  The on call doctor immediately called me back and said to go to the hospital and check in to the triage.  She said based on the description of what I saw, it could definitely be leaking amniotic fluid.  EEEK!  I felt perfectly fine and felt a little silly going to the hospital but I figured it was better to be safe.  I called my husband who was already at the hospital with his Mom.  I tell him "hey, I am on my way to the hospital."  And he is like "Ok, see you when you get here."  Poor guy...thought I was just coming to see him and his mom.  Nope.... now it was my turn.
Anyways, I get there and he meets me in the family birth center and we get checked in and put in a room right away.  The nurse has me change into a gown and hooks me up to all the monitors.  They use a test strip and take a sample of the "fluid" and put it in this solution that will turn a color if it is amniotic fluid.  Thank goodness it came back negative!  But the monitors were showing I was having fairly regular contractions...they were not big or painful but they were continuous. And it appeared the baby was being "irritable" they said. So, we ended up having to stay for a couple hours to monitor me and the baby.  They sent me home and told me to drink more water and rest.  What I was thinking could be my water breaking was actually just more of the mucus plug shedding (way more than normal).   So, everything is fine, praise the Lord!

We had our 3rd Preparing for Childbirth class Tuesday night and got to tour the hospital and maternity area (my husband and I got real familiar with that area and the rest of the hospital over the weekend though..haha)   It was fun seeing a room we would be in when Connor comes and learning where the nursery, NICU and waiting rooms are.  We also learned all about c-sections and medications that are available for pain during labor.  I know some people think these classes are useless and a waste of time and I have to wonder if the classes they took were completely different than ours?  Our is AWESOME and we have learned so much.  No, we won't remember everything and a lot of it we don't really need to know but it has made me feel so much less nervous about the whole process and I feel much more "educated" on every possible situation that we could be faced with.  Our classes have definitely been worth it!

Bump Update- 31 Weeks!

Picture taken on 3/9/13 at 30 weeks 4 days

How far along?  31 weeks 1 day....we are in the single digit countdown now! 9 weeks or less to go!

How big is baby?  Approximately 18-19 inches and getting close to 4 lbs

Total weight gain/loss?  +10.5 lbs.  I really feel like I have gained about 40 lbs though.  My uterus is just gigantic...even my doctor confirmed that I have a very large uterus.  Wonder if that means baby is really big too??

Maternity Clothes?  Everyday!

Stretch Marks?  Yep...on my sides and boobs.

Sleep?   TERRRRRIBLE.  The past few nights I have just gotten up and gone to our guest room so that my husband can actually get some sleep.  I am probably sleeping 3-4 hours total each night.  My mind is racing, my legs and arms feel restless and my back and hips are killing me.  Tylenol PM and multiple warm baths help a little.

Miss anything?  I would love to have a red bull or 2 about now ;)  I miss sleeping good at night most of all.

Movement?  I think we have a future soccer play growing in my belly.  He is so active all day, every day.  The kicks are getting a little painful but it is still the best feeling.

Food Cravings?  Macaroni & Cheese, strawberries, Chick-Fil-A sweet tea

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  I get asked if I am having twins regularly...so, yes, definitely!

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  The braxton hicks are stronger these days.

Belly Button in or out?  In still but it is getting really shallow!

Mood?  Happy, anxious and excited...but tired and a little overwhelmed when I think about how much I still need to do.

Symptoms?
Lack of sleep, shortness of breath, really bad hip pain at night, pubic bone pain and still dealing with lower back/tailbone pain.  I plan on continuing to go to the chiropractor once a week from here on out.   My prescription for my heartburn does not work too well anymore so now I eat Tums all day too.  The acid reflux was so bad one day last week that I actually threw up.  Even water gives me HB!

Wedding rings still on?  YES!  I have been very lucky to not have any swelling thru this whole pregnancy so far (knock on wood).  I see pictures of friends swollen, painful feet and have friends who have not been able to wear their wedding rings since 24 weeks but I am so happy that I have not had to deal with any of that yet.  Hoping it stays that way!

Best moments of the week?
-Started our Preparing for Childbirth class ( 2 down, 2 to go) and seeing my husband dressed in the "Empathy Belly"  He was chosen to wear the 35 lb fake belly and walk around and pick up laundry off the floor.  It was hilarious and he now has a whole new appreciation for what women go thru :)
I look very sleepy (or Asian) in this picture....
 - I finished registering at the hospital....feels good to have that done!
- We had our 4d ultrasound on Monday and got to watch Connor move around for 30 minutes.  He loves to keep his little hands and arms in front of his face so we did not get any really good pictures but it was awesome to just lay there and watch him for so long.  He was opening and closing his mouth, playing with the umbilical cord and covering his face with his sweet little hands.  The ultrasound tech confirmed he is already head down and it is very unlikely that at this stage he will flip.  This was great news!!

Looking forward to?
-Our maternity pictures on Sunday!
-Going to see Luke Bryan at the Rodeo on Saturday night
-Spending a lot of time this weekend putting all the baby equipment together and working on the nursery

Thoughts:   I had a really productive week last week....chose Connor's pediatrician, registered at the hospital, got the diaper bag in the mail, got my Whooping Cough shot (which is so painful by the way...not the actual shot but the 3-4 days after the shot are awful.  I got it Friday afternoon and today is the first day I can use my arm like normal and not almost cry every time it touches something),  found the rug for his room and several other random projects.  I realized this week how much we still need off our registries too...that was a little overwhelming.  We have a shower next weekend in Dallas then it will be time for us to buy everything we are missing.

Nursery progress- No big updates here.....I have a long way to go.  I finally found the rug for the room which was a huge relief.  I found what I wanted online but it was $400 and there was no way I wanted to spend that on a rug but I got really lucky and found exactly what I wanted at Garden Ridge Pottery of all places and it was only $99!!! WHOHOO!  I painted his name this week and hope to get that hung in the next couple of weeks and today I am getting all the prints framed.  The bedding, curtains and pillows are still being made and will be ready in early to mid April.

30 Week Bump Update!

How far along?  30 weeks!  10 or less to go!

How big is baby?  Approximately 17 inches long and 3.1 lbs....size of a butternut squash

Total weight gain/loss?  10 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes...that is all I can wear! I am pretty much living in dresses and maxi skirts these days.

Stretch Marks?  Yep...on my sides and boobs.  It doesn't seem like they have grown much lately though, thank goodness.

Sleep?  Getting harder and harder.  I am so uncomfortable and have to switch sides every hour it seems....and still going to the bathroom 4-5 times a night.  Tylenol PM helps but I try not to take it every night.

Miss anything? Sleep, walking normal, being able to move around easily and not being in pain.  I have been in pain since mid-November...I don't really remember what it's like to not be in pain.

Movement?  All the time!  In the past 2 weeks I have noticed the kicks are much harder and there are more big rolls and stretching.  And he loves to wedge some part of his body under the left side of my ribs.  Sometimes I just lay down and watch my belly for long periods of time :) I will definitely miss those feelings once he is born.

Food Cravings?  Blueberry Bagels, Burritos and fruit!  So random!  Over the weekend I decided I HAD to have a burrito from Freebirds....but I have never even eaten at Freebirds before.  HA!  My hubby took me there and it was amazing :)

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  Yep...I feel gigantic!

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  A few painful braxton hicks here and there

Belly Button in or out?  In, but it is getting shallow

Mood?  Happy, happy!  Getting very excited that in 10 weeks he will be here!

Symptoms?  Sleepy! I want to take a nap every day.  My lower back and tailbone still hurt but going to the chiropractor, getting massages and warm baths help a lot.

Best moment of the week?  Our babymoon to Mexico!

Looking forward to?  Starting our Preparing for Childbirth class tonight...we go every Tuesday night for the next 4 weeks.  Also, our friend's Kim & Chris wedding this weekend!

Thoughts:   Things got REALLY real this past week.  Saturday morning we took a 2 1/2 hour Breastfeeding class and learned so much.  Before the class I knew I wanted to breastfeed but was more nervous and anxious about it than I was excited.  But now, I am really excited!  My husband was so cute in the class....he took a whole page of notes :) hehe   Then yesterday and today I got all registered at the hospital, filled out paperwork for Connor's birth certificate and consent forms for immunizations once he is born.  It really hit me that this is really happening and happening soon! I had lunch with a friend today who is 36 weeks pregnant and she was having contractions during lunch....her baby boy will be here any day!  Just makes it so real to see her and think "that will be me in 6 weeks!"

Nursery progress-  I have a long way to go!  Still have not hung anything on the walls or started decorating at all.  I really need to get on that.  Furniture is in and put together, walls are painted, all clothes, towels, blankets, etc.. are washed and put away.  We are going to start putting together the swing, pack-n-play and other equipment soon.  The bedding, shower curtain and window treatments are still being made but hopefully will be done in the next few weeks.  I will do a full post once I have more done and have good pictures to post :)

I haven't seen my toes in a loooong time....

Bump Update- 27 Weeks!

(Pic taken on 2/12/13 @ 27 weeks)

How far along?  27 weeks and 2 days.  89 days to go!! Can't believe I am officially in the 3rd trimester....the 2nd flew by just like everyone said!

How big is baby?  He is about the size of a head of cauliflower (16 in, 2.5 lbs)

Total weight gain/loss?  Not exactly sure but I am almost positive I have gained a couple lbs in the past 2 weeks, so probably 8-9 total

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes...that is all I can wear!

Stretch Marks?  Yes...on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?  If I take Tylenol PM (yes, it is totally safe) I sleep great...if not, I sleep a few hours and that is about it.  My hips bother me a lot at night these days.

Miss anything? Sleeping thru the night, walking normal

Movement?  All day! The kicks and jabs are getting harder every day.  He has finally found my ribs too...ouch!

Food Cravings?  Still craving Spaghetti and most pastas.  That has been the one thing I have craved my entire pregnancy.

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat

Have you started to show yet?  Oh yeah...big time.

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  Still having Braxton Hicks but they are not as painful as they were a couple weeks ago

Belly Button in or out?  In, but it is getting shallow

Mood?  Happy and sleepy! Starting to feel a little overwelmed by how much I need to do in the next couple of months.  I know I have plenty of time to do it but when I think about it all I have a mini panic attack. Haha!

Symptoms?  Starting to feel really tired again but my tailbone/pelvic pain has gotten a little better! I think he has finally moved up a little bit and taken some of the pressure off that area so that helps a lot.  I haven't had to go to the chiropractor in almost 2 weeks.  Heartburn is still an issue but I take my prescription every morning then take a Zantac in the afternoons and that helps a lot.

Best moment of the week?  My first baby shower!! It was SO fun and we got so many great gifts for Connor :)  I am going to post a bunch of pics and do a full recap soon! We have the best friends and family... We are very, very blessed :)

Looking forward to?  A good friend's wedding shower this weekend and another friend's baby shower.  Then our baby moon to Mexico next weekend!!

25 Week Bump Update!

How far along?  25 weeks...15 weeks to go!!

How big is baby?  Getting closer to 2 lbs and the size of an eggplant

Total weight gain/loss?  Lost 1/2 lb in the last 2 weeks...so total gain is 6 lbs
My stomach (uterus) is huge but luckily I have not gained too much anywhere else...YET!

Maternity Clothes?  That's all I can wear these days!

Stretch Marks?  Yes...on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?  Not so great the past few days.  I feel like I wake up to switch positions about 20x a night.

Miss anything?  Not really

Movement?  All the time =)   Funny thing though...I think Pizza puts Connor to sleep for a loooong time.  I have eaten pizza twice in the past 8 weeks and each time, after I eat, I will barely feel him move for almost 24 hours.  After the first time it freaked me out, then it happened again after we ate pizza on Friday night.  I did not feel him again until late Saturday.  Pizza is the only thing that affects him this way though.  Anyone else ever had something like that happen??

Food Cravings?  So random....cuban food and grilled plantains!  There was a restaurant I used to go to in Florida when I lived there that had the best cuban food ever... I came across some pictures of me in that restaurant yesterday and ever since then I have wanted it so bad!

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat and mint gum

Have you started to show yet?  Oh yeah...big time.

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  Braxton Hicks every once in awhile but no actual labor signs

Belly Button in or out?  In, but it is getting shallow

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Happy, happy!!  :)

Symptoms?  My tailbone pain is a lot better these days...I have had 2 chiropractor appointments and it is helping A LOT. Still having the pubic bone pain but it is bearable.  And just in the past week my heartburn prescription is not working so well.  I take it, but am still getting heartburn late in the day so I take a Zantac and that helps.

Best moment of the week?  Getting the nursery furniture delivered and all set up!  It looks so good and I can't wait to share pictures soon!

Looking forward to?  My first baby shower in a little less than 2 weeks! :)

23 Week Bump Update!

How far along?  23 weeks

How big is baby?  About 1 1/2 lbs and the size of a papaya

Total weight gain/loss?  6.5 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  That's all I can wear these days!

Stretch Marks?  Yes...on my sides

Sleep?  I toss and turn all night long and have to get up a lot to use the bathroom.  Sleeping with 4 or 5 pillows is helping though.

Miss anything?  I miss not being in pain!

Movement?  All the time =)

Food Cravings?  Nothing new...still carbs and fruit

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat and mint gum

Have you started to show yet?  Oh yes...I can barely see my toes when I look down.  I have started to get the random people (and even a couple people I know) saying things like "wow, your are going to be huge" and "are you sure you aren't having twins?"

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  No labor signs, but at my doctor appt yesterday when I was telling her about the pains I have been having and some of my symptoms she said I am probably one of the lucky  not so lucky ones that can actually feel braxton hicks contractions this early on.  Apparently you have them thru your whole pregnancy but most people don't feel them until close to the end.  Not me though...I feel them every once in awhile and they hurt.

Belly Button in or out?  In, but it feels different.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Happy, even despite the pain!  :)

Symptoms?  For the past month or 2 I have been experiencing a lot of lower back/tailbone and lower pelvic pain.  It got a little bit better for a few weeks but now it is back and a lot worse.  Sometimes when I stand after sitting for a long time I can barely walk.  And during the day if I am up doing things or running errands, I only have an hour or so at a time where I feel ok before I have to sit down for awhile because the pain gets so bad. And something new....I feel like he is about to fall out sometimes!  The doctor promised me he isn't but I get that feeling because of how low he is and how much pressure he is putting on my lower pelvic area.  So, everything I am experiencing is completely normal my doctor says.  Just some people get this and some people don't.

Looking forward to?  Spending the weekend in Vegas!

Bump Update- 13 Weeks!

( no bump picture last week or this week! I have been too lazy to update my chalk board and I keep forgetting to have hubby take a picture.)

How far along? 13 weeks and 1 day

Total weight gain/loss:  I have not really been weighing myself at home.  But, I will find out at my doctor appt next Friday.

Maternity clothes? Some of both, but definitely beinning to need more maternity.

Stretch marks? Nope

Sleep: Still sleeping a lot at night, but never feel rested.  The past few nights I woke up 5 TIMES (yikes) to use the bathroom.

Best moment this week: Finding out we are having a BOY, and telling our family and friends!  AND making it to the 2nd trimester!

Miss Anything? Energy!

Movement: Not yet

Food cravings: Nothing new...still fruits and pasta.  I pretty much want Spaghetti for every meal these days.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Red meat (mainly steak).  It grossed me out sometimes before I was pregnant so now it is so much worse.  I honestly don't know that I will ever want to eat a steak again.

Have you started to show yet: YES!  In Target over the weekend, this sweet, elderly lady stopped me in the frames aisle and asked when I was due.  It made my day!  Then she wanted to know where my maternity top was from that I was wearing. haha

Gender: BOY!!

Labor Signs: Nope

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, thankful and sleepy :)

Symptoms:  Holy heartburn!  That really is my only negative symptom right now.  But, the medicine my doctor prescribed helps alot as long as I take it every day and never miss a day.  I made the mistake of skipping it on Sunday.  BIG mistake. I paid for it for 2 days.

Looking forward to:  Staring to shop for Baby and plan his nursery and booking our baby moon this week!

Bump Update- 10 weeks!

How far along? 10 weeks and 1 day

Maternity clothes? My normal pants are definitely a little too tight around the waist and I can't wear some of my shirts unless they are stretchy or flowy.  I bought 2 pairs of maternity slacks for work and even though they are a little too big right now, they are much more comfortable than my normal pants!

Stretch marks? Not yet!  I am already slathering on Palmer's Oil & Lotion so hopefully that will help.

Sleep: Sleeping ok most nights.  It takes a long time to get comfortable and my husband says I move around a lot...he can never tell if I am sleeping or not.  Getting up 2-3 times to use the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Having a relaxing weekend at home with hubby.  He is usually away at a football game on the weekends but luckily A&M had an away game so we had a free weekend together at home.
Miss anything? Having energy!  No matter how much or how little I sleep, I am always tired and don't have much motivation to do anything these days.

Movement: Not yet!  Can't wait for that though :)

Food cravings: Juicy, cold fruit and macaroni & cheese!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Red Meats and the smell of seafood
Gender: Hopefully we find out at our 16 week appt!  At first we really felt like it was a boy but now I think it is a girl.  According to all the old wives tales and the Chinese calendar it will be a girl, so we will see! :)
Labor Signs: Nada

Symptoms: Heartburn, nausea, shortness of breath, sneezing ALL the time (I swear I sneeze at least 20 times a day...I read that is normal though??)

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Today it is great!! I slept about 10 hours last night and woke up not feeling nauseous.  Praise the Lord!

Looking forward to: Our next doctor appt on Friday!!  And having another free weekend ahead with nothing to do. Whohoo!  I live for weekends like this these days.

I have been a terrible blogger lately. :(  It has been hard to find the motivation, energy or creativeness when I feel like throwing up all day every day so I have just put blogging to the side for now.   I am **hoping** that over these next few weeks I will start feeling better so I can get back into it though!  I miss reading your blogs and writing every day!

Hope you all are doing well! xo
