Weekend Shenanigans!

Happy Monday, friends!
I am linking up with Sami over at Sami's Shenanigans to share all about our weekend!

FRIDAY

1.  Tried a new recipe thanks to my sister-in-law....Memphis Style Pulled Pork.  And it.was.amazing.  I cooked it for 8 1/2 hours in the crock pot and it was DELISH!
2.  Connor has started to hold on to things on his own.  I put the little rattle in right by his hands and he grabbed it and held on.  Love seeing how much he changes each week.
3. The little guy must be going thru a growth spurt.  He slept off and on ALL day Friday!  It gave me a chance to get a lot of things around the house done.  AND he slept thru the night for the first time ever!! He went to sleep about 8:30 and woke up at 6:30.  Happy, happy Mama and Daddy :)
4.  The first Texans pre-season game was on and that means my husband was glued to the TV.  And that also means it was Connor's first of many, many football games and a really cute photo opportunity for Mama.  This is one of my most favorite pictures of them together ever.  I am getting it framed for daddy's office :)

SATURDAY

My brother came home!!!! So glad he is back home safe after 7 months!

SUNDAY

We took Connor to my home church where I grew up for the first time.  I am terrible and didn't get any pictures though.  Boo.  We put him in the nursery so we could enjoy the service but I got paged in the middle of it because he was crying and not taking the bottle.  So, I had to miss the last half of the service since I had to feed him.  But, that's ok.  It was fun seeing so many friends and people I have known for the majority of my life!

He slept thru the night again!! Whohooo!!

After church we went to one of my best friend's 30th birthday brunch at America's.  Brunch buffet + bottomless mimosas, margaritas, bloody Mary's and mojitos...Yes, please!! (Although I only had one margarita...no bottomless drinks since I am still BF ;) )  Holly and I have been best friends since we were in 7th grade!  Fun day celebrating her big 3-0!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

It's been FOREVER since I linked up with Jamie for WILW!  But, I am back!

Here is what I'm loving these days....

1.  I am loving these new outfits I picked up for Connor at Baby GAP. Whoever said shopping for boys isn't as much fun as girls?!?

2.  I am loving that MTV has been showing re-runs of Laguna Beach and The Hills every morning (yes, I am 31 and still watch these)!  I watch a lot more TV these days since I am home a lot more and was so excited to see these shows back on.  It reminded me of my college days in West Palm Beach :)

3.  I am loving (or maybe not really...) that my birthday was yesterday.  I can't believe I am 31 years old.  Craziness!!  My parents are watching Connor on Friday night so hubby and I can have a night out to celebrate!

4.  I am loving Nick Lachey's newest "baby" CD, "A Father's Lullaby."
I play it for Connor when he naps during the day :)

5.  I am loving all of my new Honest Company products!  I got diapers, wipes, fruit & veggie spray, cleaning spray and bubble bath.  These are awesome, safe, toxic/chemical free products for your home and body (and baby!).  So far I am loving everything.  If you haven't read Jessica Alba's book, The Honest Life, I highly recommend it :)

6.  And last but not least...I am loving my sweet baby boy that is 10 weeks old this week!

Head over to Jamie's blog and link up!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

Hubby Turned 30!!

Last Friday, November 25, Chris turned 30! We spent the morning in Oklahoma since we had been there for a few days for Thanksgiving and flew back to Texas around lunch. We spent the afternoon in The Woodlands with my parents and had Thanksgiving Round 2 and opened gifts. Then, Saturday night was the big party. We had dinner with 2 other couples at Soma Sushi in Houston then headed to Hughes Hangar for a couple drinks. We ended the night with table reservations & bottle service at Roak on Kirby with about 25 friends! It was SUCH a fun night (probably a little too much fun) celebrating my hubby's 30th birthday with everyone!

If you are looking for new places to go out or maybe have book a holiday party, these 2 bars are really nice and big:

Back in the swing of things

What a craaaazy month November has been! I am so looking forward to December. I will not be traveling for work again until January and I just LOVE this time of year!

I have not been able to blog much lately so here are a few updates:

- We are hoping to get an offer on our house this week!! We have 3 couples that are really interested in it and our realtor is expecting an offer to come thru at any time now! YAY!!! Let's just hope it is an offer we like :)

- Our new house is coming right along! It is still on track to be ready in the middle or end of February. We went to see it on Saturday and the sheet rock is up, the plumbing and electric outlets have been installed and it has a roof! This is it as of Saturday morning:

- Chris and I are starting to train for The Woodlands Half-Marathon today! Whohoo! It is just a little over 4 months away. This will be my 5th Half-Marathon and his first. I have been in a major funk with running this past year but I am going to try to get back into it. I always go thru phases with running...I do really well for a few months then I get burnt out and just quit running all together. Maybe (hopefully!) this time will be different :)

- Chris turned 30 last Friday!! We had such a fun day celebrating with his family in Oklahoma then spending the evening with my family in The Woodlands. Then, we went out with about 25 of our friends on Saturday night and had a little too much fun. ;) Pictures to come tomorrow!

- The next couple of weeks are going to be filled with a lot of Christmas fun...I have a couple Pinterest projects in the works, finishing up Christmas shopping, a lot of baking & cooking, Christmas music & scents, parties and family and friends. I. can. not. wait.

Happy Monday!

Birthday Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday & August 1st! Wow...where has this year gone?! I can not believe football season is here, the holidays are just around the corner, one of my best friends is very close to having her first baby, school starts and hopefully some cooler weather in the next couple of months (I live in Houston..wishful thinking)! This year has flown by.

Well, this weekend I turned 29. Whohoo! It was such a fun weekend! Friday night hubby and I went with his brother, Andrew and his GF, Hannah and my old roomies Hayden & Brendan to see Katy Perry in concert. SHE WAS AAAAAWESOME!!!!!! She changed costumes at least 10 times, has tons of dancers and acrobats and did some really cool "extras". Here are a few pictures. ( They are kinda grainy...something was up with my little point & shoot that night )

Saturday morning I skipped my run with my group (bad Leslie...I made it up on Sunday though! ) and Chris took me to my favorite brunch place in Houston- Backstreet Cafe. And he gave me my gift!! Ta-da....

It is a Nikkor 55-300 lens and I am OBSESSED with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It goes to my Nikon D60 I have. I have desperately wanted a new lens for awhile now so I am really excited about this! He definitely won "Husband of the Year" award for this one :)
Saturday night my parents came to our house and we went to dinner at Brenner's on the Bayou. Love this restaurant! It is right on the Bayou and so beautiful. You do not even feel like you are in Houston when you are here. It was such a fun day :)

Yesterday we went up to Lake Conroe and took the boat out for a few hours, just the 2of us, but it was SO hot we just could not stay out there very long. I got a really bad headache from the heat...it was miserable. And last night I ran 3 miserable miles and grilled shrimp for dinner.

It was a fun and relaxing weekend that went way too fast...
Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Lately....

It has been a crazy couple of weeks! After our trip to North Carolina, I was home for 5 days then headed to Seattle for work. I love Seattle. If you have never been you should go sometime. Just make sure to go during the Summer. This was my 2nd trip there...the first time was during Hurricane Ike and that was more of a vacation. This trip was for work, but I did manage to have some fun while I was there! Chris's Aunt and Uncle live there in a beautiful house right on the water. I got to have dinner with them at their new house Tuesday night and Wednesday night I got to participate in a sail boat race on the Sound, in front of downtown Seattle. That was such a cool experience. There were over 100 sail boats racing each other with a view of downtown and the Space Needle...and it was SO cold (at least to me it was). So much fun!! I was so glad I got to spend time with Chris's family and be part of that!

I was so ready to come home by the end of the week. I feel like ever since our wedding/honeymoon we have been constantly on the go. We have barely had any time to just be home so thankfully we have quite a few weekends coming up where we get to do just that. Saturday morning I ran with my running group. We only did 2.5 miles but since I am pretty much starting over with my training and it is so miserably hot outside, that was tough. We had brunch at Empire Cafe with our good friends Kim & Chris then I spent the afternoon at Hobby Lobby, Michaels and getting a mani-pedi. Chris golfed and took our neighbor on the boat so I had time to get some house projects done. Sunday we did more house projects...hung some new shelves I bought at Hobby Lobby, updated frames with new wedding pictures and more. Hubby cooked steaks for me last night and they were the best he has ever made. YUM!

And now...it is my birthday week!! Whohoo! I am going to be 29 on Saturday. I did not want to do much for my birthday this year...did not want to go out with a big group, did not really have any special gifts I wanted, etc.. My one request was to be home with no big plans. Exciting huh? For me, YES it is!
My fave brunch spot in Houston is Backstreet Cafe (if you have not been, go!) so Chris is taking me there after my run on Saturday morning. Then we will go to dinner with my parents at Brenner's on the Bayou Saturday night. And that is literally it and I could not be more excited. =)

Happy Monday!! Hope yall have a great week!
