A few things I am really excited about.....

1. FALL! I am so over these 100+ degree days here in Texas.  Unfortunately we probably still have at least another month of it but after that we will hopefully have some cooler temps around here.   I can't wait to light my Pumpkin candles, decorate the house, wear boots and scarves (although with BF that will be a little more complicated this year), use the fire pit outside and bake (love Fall sweets!).   

      2. The Houston bloggers event on Sunday! This is open to everyone...not just bloggers!  Hope to see some of you there =)  

    3.  Finding Connor's 1st Halloween costume I have already started looking on Pinterest and costume websites for some ideas (whole post on that later on).  It is going to be hard to choose...there are SO many cute baby costumes!

        4.  My new face wash....Clearasil's Refreshing Superfruit Wash & Scrub This stuff smells amazing and my skin is so soft and clean.  LOVE this stuff.

      5.  Connor's newest, adorable aviator onesie :)  Get one for your little man here!  

       

Nothing BUNDT Cakes- Houston, TX

If you live in Houston and have a special occasion where you need a cake, you MUST get a bundt cake from "Nothing Bundt Cakes" by the Galleria! AAAAMAZING! I have been hearing about this place for the past couple of months and decided to stop in on Monday. First of all, it smells heavenly...a mixture of warm cakes baking and icing! You can buy bundt cakes already made and iced or you can custom order one and have it decorated. There are many flavors the cakes come in- Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Pecan Praline, White Chocolate, Chocolate Raspberry and more! There are miniature, single serving cakes and larger cakes to be used for parties, gifts or special occasions (or just because you want a 12 inch cake to yourself) :) They are moist and so delicious!! I tried a sample of the chocolate chocolate chip and the pumpkin spice...oh my goodness- SO yummy! I bought an 8 inch Pumpkin Spice bundt cake to take to one of my best friends and had them top it with a big pink flower since she had just had a baby girl. Next time you are hungry for cake or have an occasion make sure you try this place! You won't be disappointed :)

Product Review- Lavanila Healthy Body Butter

Every once in awhile my mother-in-law buys these beauty gift sets for me. They usually include 10-15 products, all small to medium sizes and range in everything from lotion to makeup to hair products. Well, over the weekend I got to see her and she gave me a new bag full of goodies! One of the products in this one was a tube of Lavanila Healthy Body Butter. I AM IN LOVE.



I have tried every lotion and body butter under the sun and there is nothing that compares to this lotion. The smell is lavender vanilla, which normally I would not really care for too much, but this smells amazing. It is light and refreshing, not overpowering. I put it on after I get out of the shower around 6 AM and I can still smell it on my skin in the afternoon. It is not really thick and heavy like most body butters and it does not leave your skin greasy at all. My skin is soft, smooth and smells delicious!

And even better, all Lavanila products are created with natural and organic ingredients. There are no harsh chemicals in the products. Founders Danielle Raynor and Lauren DiGiorolamo both suffered from allergies due to harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrance found in their beauty products. Lauren and Danielle set out to design a luxury line of products full of natural ingredients and free from everything else. They succeeded, let me tell you. Product Review- Suave Dry Shampoo

Every once in awhile I oversleep or wake up and just don't feel like completely re-doing my hair for the day. I usually just throw it in a low pony tail on those days and it looks fine. Well, recently I started seeing this product on the shelves and even read a really good review on it so I decided to buy it and try it out.

Verdict- Not a fan.

I followed the directions...hold can 8-12 inches away from head and lightly spray, let sit for a few minutes then style as normal. I did exactly this. The first thing I noticed is it made my hair look gray. It kind of looked like I spray painted my hair. This freaked me out a little, considering I had to be at work in 20 minutes, so I immediately tried to use a towel and get it off my hair. That sort of worked, but not really. It is now 8 hours later and I still think my hair looks gray at the roots. Anyways- after that disaster I still thought I could just hold it a little farther away and just lightly spray all over instead of just around my part at the roots. I know you are probably thinking I sprayed too much...I swear I didn't. I just very lightly sprayed over my whole head then let it sit for 2-3 minutes. I went to give my hubby a hug bye and he nearly choked on the smell of the spray. He said it smelled like bad hairspray. Awesome. So, my hair is semi gray looking, kind of sticky and it smells funny today. Ugh....
