Hubby Turned 30!!

Last Friday, November 25, Chris turned 30! We spent the morning in Oklahoma since we had been there for a few days for Thanksgiving and flew back to Texas around lunch. We spent the afternoon in The Woodlands with my parents and had Thanksgiving Round 2 and opened gifts. Then, Saturday night was the big party. We had dinner with 2 other couples at Soma Sushi in Houston then headed to Hughes Hangar for a couple drinks. We ended the night with table reservations & bottle service at Roak on Kirby with about 25 friends! It was SUCH a fun night (probably a little too much fun) celebrating my hubby's 30th birthday with everyone!

If you are looking for new places to go out or maybe have book a holiday party, these 2 bars are really nice and big:

4 Years Ago Today..........

Chris and I had our first date :) I can not believe we have been together for 4 years! Time has flown by and now we have almost been married for 4 months.

I remember this day 4 years ago.... I was really nervous all day. I had not seen Chris since the night of August 24th when me and my girlfriends were out in downtown Houston for a birthday party.

A little background- Chris and I actually grew up together. We both grew up in The Woodlands and graduated from TWHS. We had a lot of mutual friends but we never really knew each other. Fast forward to August 2007. I am back in The Woodlands and Chris is in Houston and MySpace is the cool thing. One day in the middle of August I get a friend request from Chris. He sent me a message a couple days later just saying hey and telling me that if I was ever out in Houston to let him know. We messaged back and forth for several days and exchanged #'s. All over MySpace. Awesome. So, on August 24th, 2007 it was one of my best friends, Jenn from www.downwiththedearmores.blogspot.com, birthdays! A group of us took a limo from The Woodlands into Houston to go out. We bounced around a couple places and ended up at Escobar in Midtown. Chris and I had been texting that day and he had told me him and his friends would be out in Midtown so maybe we could all meet up. Well, how convenient that Escobar was right next door to Whiskey Creek where he was :) I swear I did not plan that....
I think at some point I left my girlfriends and went over to Whiskey Creek to meet him...I remember being so nervous to finally officially meet him for the first time. I dropped my license when I was trying to give it to the door guy and saw Chris for the first time since May 2000. He taught me how to 2-step that night...it was to James Otto's "Just Got Started Loving You" and we had our first kiss on the dance floor of Whiskey Creek.

After that night I was not really sure what would happen...I wondered if he would call, if I would ever see him again, all the typical thoughts most girls have after meeting someone. Thankfully he called me the next day! He said he wanted to come take me out so we planned on getting together on Sept. 1st.

So, back to September 1, 2007....I was so nervous all day. I had not really done the dating thing in a LONG time so I felt like I was going on my first date ever. He came to pick me up and he took me to Jasper's where he had made dinner reservations. We had a great dinner but I was so nervous that I actually had to excuse myself to the bathroom 2 times so I could throw up!!!! SERIOUSLY! We walked over to Cru Wine Bar after dinner for a couple glasses of wine but I had to go to the bathroom and throw up again! It was awful. I did not want him to know that he made me so excited & nervous that I threw up thru most of our date (I did tell him about that months later, ha!). He drove me home later that night and all I could think was "Oh great, I ruined that...like he will ever call me again. He probably thinks I am such a weirdo for having to go to the bathroom so much"

Lucky for me, he gave me another chance :)

These past 4 years have been the best years of my life...he has made me so happy and I am so blessed to have him in my life, for the rest of my life!!
