Bump Update- 37 Weeks!

How far along? FULL TERM....37 weeks, 1 day..... 20 days left!!

How big is baby?  About the size of a watermelon....19-22 inches.  At my doc. appt. on Monday we had an ultrasound to see about how much he weighs and she estimated he was close to 7 lbs!

Total weight gain/loss?  +15 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Every day.   I live in maxi skirts, tank tops and maxi dresses these days!  Thankfully there is some really cute stuff out there for Spring and Summer.

Stretch Marks?  Sides and boobs.

Sleep?   God is definitely trying to prepare me for when Connor arrives.  Sleep doesn't happen much these days.  Tylenol PM doesn't even work as well as it used to.

Miss anything?  After the past 2 weeks I have had, I miss EVERYTHING.... sleeping, not going to the bathroom every 30 minutes, not being in pain, you name it....

Movement?  I read something this week about how at this stage the baby usually sleeps anywhere from 16-20 hours a day.  Totally not the case for Connor...he moves allllll day long and all night.  I rarely go for an hour where I don't feel him.  That will be what I will miss most about being pregnant.

Food Cravings?  Ice, Banana Split (someone posted a pic on Instagram of a banana split last week and ever since then I have wanted one!), pasta

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Meat in general.  Most nights I want anything that does not have meat in it.

Have you started to show yet?  My belly is HUGE!

Gender?   BOY!!!

Labor Signs? Painful braxton hicks, intense pelvic/who-ha pain

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  I have had a few breakdowns the past week... I am pretty miserable and limited on what I can do so I've been pretty down.  And I cry at just about anything.  My hormones are definitely crazier than they have been throughout the rest of the pregnancy!

Symptoms?
TERRIBLE pelvic bone/who-ha pains and pressure, unable to walk much, restless legs, aching hands and wrists.  I woke up this morning with a sore throat and bad cough too.

Wedding rings still on?  Still on!  I have had a few days in the past 2 weeks where I could not get them off though, but that usually just happens after I have been standing for too long or if I am in the heat.

Best moments of the week?
-The nursery is almost finished and we absolutely LOVE it! Can't wait to do a whole post and share it with you :)
-We had an ultrasound on Monday and got to see him for the first time in a long time. He is head down still and facing my back so we couldn't see too much but still amazing seeing his big head, belly, spine and little feet.
-Hubby and I spent a couple hours on the lake on Sunday.  The lake is one of our favorite places to be and the weather was beautiful so we took the boat out and enjoyed some time just the 2 of us.  And I got to work on my tan :)
-Last Thursday night we went to my husband's company's employee appreciation dinner in Houston and at the end they surprised us with a ton of gifts for Connor!  We were so surprised and feel so lucky to have such great, generous people in our lives.  We are officially completely stocked with everything we need!

Looking forward to?
-Giving birth!!! haha :)  Seriously though.... I am SO ready and so excited.
-Finishing the nursery this week
-Next doc. appt on Monday, 4/29

Doctor Appt. Update-
At our appt on Monday she checked to see if I was dilated for the first time.....and nope, I am at a big fat 0 still.  And she could not feel his head so she said I probably have a ways to go.  We had an ultrasound to see how big he was and confirm that he is head down.  Doc. said he has a big belly :)  My blood pressure is perfect, his heart rate is perfect...so everything is good!
She did tell me that once I was at 2 cm. she would induce if I wanted her too, but she would prefer if I just let him come on his own.  So, we'll just see how miserable I am when that time comes...if it comes!
But she did say that no matter what she will not let me go too far past my due date...a week at the absolute most.

{My Pregnancy Survival Guide}

With my pregnancy coming to an end in about 4 weeks (hopefully!) I thought I would share with you some of my favorite things these days....things that have helped me survive the past 9 months, and especially the 3rd trimester.

1.  Pregnancy Books
If you know me or have been following my blog for a long time, you know I am a big reader.  When I first found out I was pregnant I read every book I could get my hands on.  I wanted to know everything there is to know about my pregnancy and my baby.  I read the funny books, medical books and the week by week books.  These were a few of my favorites:

2.  The Bath Tub
The past couple of months I have spent A LOT of time in the bathtub.  It is pretty much the only thing that gives me any relief from the aches, pains and restless arms & legs. There have been days I have taken 4 baths but mostly I take one mid-morning and one right before I go to bed.  I have even gotten up in the middle of the night and taken one.  The warm water and Bath and Body Works Lavender Chamomille Bubble Bath work wonders.  It helps ease the pains and helps me relax.  The hospital I am delivering at actually has a few hydrotherapy tubs in the birthing center and  they will let you use them when you are in labor (but before your water has broken).  You better believe I will use one if I am able to.  =)

(Best stuff ever)

3.  Soma Intimates Sleepwear and Undies
At the end of the first trimester when I officially had a bump and started to get uncomfortable at night I went on a mission to find comfortable things to sleep in and keep me cool at night.  I also knew I would need different under garments as my body grew.  Soma Intimates has been a lifesaver.  I sleep in their night gowns every night and only wear their undies.  They are cool, comfortable, soft and there are tons of cute prints.  But, they are not maternity...I just buy a size up from what I wore pre-preggo and they fit perfectly!

4.  My Husband
My hubby has been amazing throughout the past 9 months and I don't think I could have made it at times if it wasn't for him.  He has taken care of me many times when I have been sick, put up with my crazy cravings and indecisiveness, been involved in every decision and moment, taken breastfeeding and childbirth classes (and not complained once), helped out so much around the house and stayed home with me at times when I knew he could have been out doing something fun with his friends.  He worries about me and always wants what is best for me.  My love and appreciation for him has quadrupled since I got pregnant and I can not wait to see him as a Daddy in a few weeks.  And now I am crying.......

5.  Social Media Friendships
I have made some amazing friends thru the blogging, Instagram and Facebook world and one of the most helpful things during this pregnancy is having so many people that are pregnant at the same time to go thru it with. Through blogging I have become friends with or follow 9 others who are due within 1-2 months of me....these are girls I keep in touch with regularly and follow their blogs religiously and I am so thankful for every one of them.  There are several that are even due the same week as me and it has been so fun getting to go thru this (over the internet and thru pictures) together!   My husband makes fun of me and thinks it's a little weird I have so many "pen pals" as he calls them. haha
Of course I am so thankful for my family, best friends and friends in real life too....they call to check on me regularly and answer all my millions of questions, hosted amazing showers for us and will be the best "aunts" to Connor.  God really has blessed us with some pretty awesome people in our lives :)  Love you all!

6.  Maternity Dresses & Skirts
I live in maxi dresses and skirts these days.  Jeans and pants in general are too uncomfortable.  In my opinion Old Navy and GAP have the best selections for these pieces and they aren't very expensive!

(All photos via Old Navy website)

I am leaving out a bunch of random things that helped get me thru pregnancy but these are some of the most important and essential in my experience :)
What helped you?

Happy Monday! xoxo

Bump Update- 35 weeks!

Hi, friends!!! I have turned into the worst blogger ever...I know.  Growing a baby is hard work! ;)  Between keeping busy with house and nursery projects, feeling pretty bad most days and trying to rest a lot, blogging has taken a back seat lately.  I hope to keep posting at least once a week thru the end of my pregnancy and get back into it more once Connor arrives and we get into a little bit of a routine.

Moving on to my 35 week bump update...
(Bump at 34 weeks)

(Bump yesterday at 35 weeks)

How far along?  35 weeks, 1 day!  34 DAYS LEFT...holy cow!

How big is baby?  About the size of a large cantaloupe...19-22 inches, 5 1/2 lbs

Total weight gain/loss?  Somehow managed to lose 3 lbs in the past 2 weeks.  So, total weight gain- 11 lbs.

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes.

Stretch Marks?  Still on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?   Waking up every couple of hours to use the bathroom and still having to take Tylenol PM pretty much every night.

Miss anything?  I would kill for a margarita :)  This whole pregnancy I have not missed alcohol until now.  Springtime and this weather make me want to sit on a patio and drink a big ole margarita!  The thing I miss the most...not being in pain all day, every day.

Movement?  All the time! I love laying on my back or side and watching him rock n roll in my belly.

Food Cravings?  Ice, margaritas, mac & cheese, spaghetti, strawberries

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Still red meat.  I haven't eaten a steak in 9 months and only eat hamburger meat sparingly.

Have you started to show yet?  Oh yeah

Gender?   BOY!!! Connor Christopher

Labor Signs? Painful braxton hicks, intense pelvic/who-ha pain

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  Super emotional the past few days but still happy and in a good mood.  I have been lucky not to have crazy, raging mood swings or too many crying bouts the past 9 months but something definitely changed the past few days.  I have cried more in the past 3 days than I have in the past year combined.

Symptoms?
Acid Reflux and heartburn, nausea, aching hands, hot flashes, restless legs, hip, tailbone and pelvic bone pain, low blood pressure.....you name it.  I am a walking pregnancy book ;)

Wedding rings still on?  Still on!

Best moments of the week?
We have gotten a lot of little projects done around the house and nursery.  I am feeling much more prepared for when Connor comes!  And 3 friends gave birth to healthy babies yesterday and today!  It has been so fun going thru this pregnancy with so many people that are pregnant and due close to me and now they are all starting to go into labor.  Totally makes me jealous though :) hehe
I am almost finished with my hospital bag and Connor's too!  Daddy just needs to do his.

Worst moment of the week?
I threw up in the middle of my massage yesterday morning.  That was awful and embarrassing.  I woke up yesterday feeling bad so I should have just canceled my appt but I didn't.  When the massage first started I got really hot and broke out in a sweat over my whole body.  The massage therapist noticed and immediately took the heavy blankets off me and turned a fan on my face.  Right about that time, I leaned over the edge of the table and threw up on the floor.  Ughhh.

Looking forward to?
My next doc. appt on 4/22....we will have an ultrasound and my doctor will start checking me for progress!! YIPPY!!
And looking forward to finishing some projects around the house and getting some landscaping done...hopefully all before Connor arrives!

Hope y'all are having a great week! xo

Week 33 Bump Update!

(Picture taken at 33 weeks, 1 day)

How far along?  33 weeks and 2 days!   47 days to go!

How big is baby?  Approximately 19-22 inches and getting closer to 5 lbs....about the size of a pineapple!

Total weight gain/loss?  As of Monday 3/25, +14 lbs.  I gained 3 lbs in the past 2 weeks...eeek!

Maternity Clothes?  That is all I can wear.

Stretch Marks?  Still on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?   If I don't take Tylenol PM, I don't sleep :(  So, as much as I hate taking it, I take it almost every night.  My doctor (and the Internet) has assured me it is ok.  Taking a warm bath before bed helps me relax but not get to sleep.  Still waking up 4-5 times a night to use the bathroom and due to the back/tailbone/hip pain I can't get comfortable.

Miss anything?  Not being in pain!!  And I can't wait to walk normal again :)

Movement?  So much!  I am learning his sleep patterns too.  I know once I wake up in the morning and my husband and I start talking, he will wake up....happens every day!   He is getting the hiccups a lot more these days too....he has them right now as I type this :)

Food Cravings?  Ice, Ice, Ice.... I stop by Sonic ALL.THE.TIME for a huge cup of their ice and I would get to our baby class 20 minutes early each week just so I could go by the cafeteria and get a cup of ice (hospital ice is just like Sonic ice!) before they closed.    I could eat Mac & Cheese and strawberries for every meal too.

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  My belly is gigantic. Yesterday I was looking at myself in the mirror and I can definitely tell that baby and I went thru a growth spurt in the past week.  I know it is going to happen but I just can't imagine getting any bigger.

Gender?  Baby boy!  CCC :)

Labor Signs?  Just braxton hicks when I stand too long or do too much.

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  It's been a rough few days....I am in a lot of pain and having a hard time moving around and getting things done so that has been a little discouraging.  BUT I am so happy that we have just 6-7 weeks left....there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Symptoms?
The newest....restless legs and arms.  I was so thankful that I made it thru this whole pregnancy without having to deal with that but that changed this week!  When I try to sleep or if I sit still too long, my legs and hands start to get antsy and restless.  Still having the back and tailbone pain but it got a lot worse the past few days.  I may have to start going to the chiro more than once a week.

Wedding rings still on?  Yes, still on!  I guess since I have every other symptom in the world, God decided to give me a break and not give me any swelling ;)  YET, at least....

Best moments of the week?
We had our Couples Shower in Dallas over the weekend!  We had a fun weekend with our Dallas friends and we got some great gifts :)
We also finished our 4 week childbirth class!  We both feel much more prepared for what is too come.

Looking forward to?
The weekend!  My husband has 3 days off and we have a full day reserved for putting together all the baby equipment, working in the nursery and finishing a couple house projects.  Also looking forward to celebrating Easter with family on Sunday and a friend's wedding on Saturday!

Maternity Pics Reveal & 32 Week Bump Update!

This past Sunday we had our maternity session with Kaleigh Karin Photography and I am so excited to share a few of our pictures with you! =)   Kaleigh is a good friend from high school and she has been with us thru my entire pregnancy....she did our bump announcement, gender reveal and after Connor is born, she will do his newborns.  If you are looking for a photographer in the Spring/Woodlands area (Texas) I highly recommend you contact her!
All pictures are taken at Old Town Spring in Spring, TX and a field that Kaleigh found in Spring.
Here are the pictures we have seen so far!  She is still working on editing the others so I will share more eventually =)

(All pictures taken on 3/17/13 at 31 weeks, 5 days)

And now for my 32 week bump update!

How far along?  32 weeks and 2 days.  54 days to go!!

How big is baby?  Approximately 18-19 inches and about 4.5 lbs....the size of a honeydew

Total weight gain/loss?  11 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Everyday!

Stretch Marks?  Still on my sides and boobs.  Boo.

Sleep?   Not so great.  I toss and turn all night long and get up to use the bathroom at least 4-5 times.  I have started taking a nap mid afternoon so that helps me not feel quite so exhausted all the time.   I have to take a warm bath before bed every night or there is no chance I will fall asleep.

Miss anything?  I miss moving around easily....everything is difficult these days...standing up, bending over, getting dressed, shaving (nearly impossible), you name it.

Movement?  All the time!

Food Cravings?  Macaroni & Cheese, strawberries, Chick-Fil-A sweet tea

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  Um yes, my stomach is huge.

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  Strong braxton hicks some days, terrible, terrible pubic bone pain. We had a scare on Saturday morning and had to go to the hospital but I will get more into that below.

Belly Button in or out?  Almost completely flat.

Mood?  Happy and excited!! I just can't believe that he will be here in 7-8 weeks or less! Time is flying by!

Symptoms?
You name it and I am dealing with it probably ;)  The worst is the tailbone, lower back and pubic bone pain.  Still dealing with heartburn, hip pain, exhaustion, queasiness in the mornings and just overall a feeling of being uncomfortable all day every day...unless I am in the bathtub.  The best I feel is when I take a bath...which sometimes happens 3-4 times a day.  I can't wait until our pool is warm enough to swim in.  I will probably stay in it several hours every day!!

Wedding rings still on?  Yes, still on!  I guess since I have every other symptom in the world, God decided to give me a break and not give me any swelling ;)  YET, at least....

Best moments of the week?
Our maternity pictures!! They were so fun and we absolutely loved how they turned out.  Can't believe the next pictures we take will be the newborns.

Looking forward to?
Our couples shower in Dallas this weekend

Crazy moment of the week:
Well, my MIL had to be admitted to the hospital on Thursday night for some stomach issues so from Thursday night-Saturday afternoon, my husband and I were in and out of the hospital several times a day.
On top of that.....Saturday morning I felt great and headed out to run some errands.  I got home late morning and went to use the bathroom when I noticed something different.  (Sorry if this is TMI!! I will try to leave out all of the gross details).  Basically, I thought my water broke....things were not normal down there so I decided to call my doctor just to let them know what was going on and see if I needed to do anything.  The on call doctor immediately called me back and said to go to the hospital and check in to the triage.  She said based on the description of what I saw, it could definitely be leaking amniotic fluid.  EEEK!  I felt perfectly fine and felt a little silly going to the hospital but I figured it was better to be safe.  I called my husband who was already at the hospital with his Mom.  I tell him "hey, I am on my way to the hospital."  And he is like "Ok, see you when you get here."  Poor guy...thought I was just coming to see him and his mom.  Nope.... now it was my turn.
Anyways, I get there and he meets me in the family birth center and we get checked in and put in a room right away.  The nurse has me change into a gown and hooks me up to all the monitors.  They use a test strip and take a sample of the "fluid" and put it in this solution that will turn a color if it is amniotic fluid.  Thank goodness it came back negative!  But the monitors were showing I was having fairly regular contractions...they were not big or painful but they were continuous. And it appeared the baby was being "irritable" they said. So, we ended up having to stay for a couple hours to monitor me and the baby.  They sent me home and told me to drink more water and rest.  What I was thinking could be my water breaking was actually just more of the mucus plug shedding (way more than normal).   So, everything is fine, praise the Lord!

We had our 3rd Preparing for Childbirth class Tuesday night and got to tour the hospital and maternity area (my husband and I got real familiar with that area and the rest of the hospital over the weekend though..haha)   It was fun seeing a room we would be in when Connor comes and learning where the nursery, NICU and waiting rooms are.  We also learned all about c-sections and medications that are available for pain during labor.  I know some people think these classes are useless and a waste of time and I have to wonder if the classes they took were completely different than ours?  Our is AWESOME and we have learned so much.  No, we won't remember everything and a lot of it we don't really need to know but it has made me feel so much less nervous about the whole process and I feel much more "educated" on every possible situation that we could be faced with.  Our classes have definitely been worth it!

Bump Update- 31 Weeks!

Picture taken on 3/9/13 at 30 weeks 4 days

How far along?  31 weeks 1 day....we are in the single digit countdown now! 9 weeks or less to go!

How big is baby?  Approximately 18-19 inches and getting close to 4 lbs

Total weight gain/loss?  +10.5 lbs.  I really feel like I have gained about 40 lbs though.  My uterus is just gigantic...even my doctor confirmed that I have a very large uterus.  Wonder if that means baby is really big too??

Maternity Clothes?  Everyday!

Stretch Marks?  Yep...on my sides and boobs.

Sleep?   TERRRRRIBLE.  The past few nights I have just gotten up and gone to our guest room so that my husband can actually get some sleep.  I am probably sleeping 3-4 hours total each night.  My mind is racing, my legs and arms feel restless and my back and hips are killing me.  Tylenol PM and multiple warm baths help a little.

Miss anything?  I would love to have a red bull or 2 about now ;)  I miss sleeping good at night most of all.

Movement?  I think we have a future soccer play growing in my belly.  He is so active all day, every day.  The kicks are getting a little painful but it is still the best feeling.

Food Cravings?  Macaroni & Cheese, strawberries, Chick-Fil-A sweet tea

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  I get asked if I am having twins regularly...so, yes, definitely!

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  The braxton hicks are stronger these days.

Belly Button in or out?  In still but it is getting really shallow!

Mood?  Happy, anxious and excited...but tired and a little overwhelmed when I think about how much I still need to do.

Symptoms?
Lack of sleep, shortness of breath, really bad hip pain at night, pubic bone pain and still dealing with lower back/tailbone pain.  I plan on continuing to go to the chiropractor once a week from here on out.   My prescription for my heartburn does not work too well anymore so now I eat Tums all day too.  The acid reflux was so bad one day last week that I actually threw up.  Even water gives me HB!

Wedding rings still on?  YES!  I have been very lucky to not have any swelling thru this whole pregnancy so far (knock on wood).  I see pictures of friends swollen, painful feet and have friends who have not been able to wear their wedding rings since 24 weeks but I am so happy that I have not had to deal with any of that yet.  Hoping it stays that way!

Best moments of the week?
-Started our Preparing for Childbirth class ( 2 down, 2 to go) and seeing my husband dressed in the "Empathy Belly"  He was chosen to wear the 35 lb fake belly and walk around and pick up laundry off the floor.  It was hilarious and he now has a whole new appreciation for what women go thru :)
I look very sleepy (or Asian) in this picture....
 - I finished registering at the hospital....feels good to have that done!
- We had our 4d ultrasound on Monday and got to watch Connor move around for 30 minutes.  He loves to keep his little hands and arms in front of his face so we did not get any really good pictures but it was awesome to just lay there and watch him for so long.  He was opening and closing his mouth, playing with the umbilical cord and covering his face with his sweet little hands.  The ultrasound tech confirmed he is already head down and it is very unlikely that at this stage he will flip.  This was great news!!

Looking forward to?
-Our maternity pictures on Sunday!
-Going to see Luke Bryan at the Rodeo on Saturday night
-Spending a lot of time this weekend putting all the baby equipment together and working on the nursery

Thoughts:   I had a really productive week last week....chose Connor's pediatrician, registered at the hospital, got the diaper bag in the mail, got my Whooping Cough shot (which is so painful by the way...not the actual shot but the 3-4 days after the shot are awful.  I got it Friday afternoon and today is the first day I can use my arm like normal and not almost cry every time it touches something),  found the rug for his room and several other random projects.  I realized this week how much we still need off our registries too...that was a little overwhelming.  We have a shower next weekend in Dallas then it will be time for us to buy everything we are missing.

Nursery progress- No big updates here.....I have a long way to go.  I finally found the rug for the room which was a huge relief.  I found what I wanted online but it was $400 and there was no way I wanted to spend that on a rug but I got really lucky and found exactly what I wanted at Garden Ridge Pottery of all places and it was only $99!!! WHOHOO!  I painted his name this week and hope to get that hung in the next couple of weeks and today I am getting all the prints framed.  The bedding, curtains and pillows are still being made and will be ready in early to mid April.

30 Week Bump Update!

How far along?  30 weeks!  10 or less to go!

How big is baby?  Approximately 17 inches long and 3.1 lbs....size of a butternut squash

Total weight gain/loss?  10 lbs

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes...that is all I can wear! I am pretty much living in dresses and maxi skirts these days.

Stretch Marks?  Yep...on my sides and boobs.  It doesn't seem like they have grown much lately though, thank goodness.

Sleep?  Getting harder and harder.  I am so uncomfortable and have to switch sides every hour it seems....and still going to the bathroom 4-5 times a night.  Tylenol PM helps but I try not to take it every night.

Miss anything? Sleep, walking normal, being able to move around easily and not being in pain.  I have been in pain since mid-November...I don't really remember what it's like to not be in pain.

Movement?  All the time!  In the past 2 weeks I have noticed the kicks are much harder and there are more big rolls and stretching.  And he loves to wedge some part of his body under the left side of my ribs.  Sometimes I just lay down and watch my belly for long periods of time :) I will definitely miss those feelings once he is born.

Food Cravings?  Blueberry Bagels, Burritos and fruit!  So random!  Over the weekend I decided I HAD to have a burrito from Freebirds....but I have never even eaten at Freebirds before.  HA!  My hubby took me there and it was amazing :)

Anything making you queasy or sick?  Red meat = gross.

Have you started to show yet?  Yep...I feel gigantic!

Gender?  Baby Boy!  Connor Christopher :)

Labor Signs?  A few painful braxton hicks here and there

Belly Button in or out?  In, but it is getting shallow

Mood?  Happy, happy!  Getting very excited that in 10 weeks he will be here!

Symptoms?  Sleepy! I want to take a nap every day.  My lower back and tailbone still hurt but going to the chiropractor, getting massages and warm baths help a lot.

Best moment of the week?  Our babymoon to Mexico!

Looking forward to?  Starting our Preparing for Childbirth class tonight...we go every Tuesday night for the next 4 weeks.  Also, our friend's Kim & Chris wedding this weekend!

Thoughts:   Things got REALLY real this past week.  Saturday morning we took a 2 1/2 hour Breastfeeding class and learned so much.  Before the class I knew I wanted to breastfeed but was more nervous and anxious about it than I was excited.  But now, I am really excited!  My husband was so cute in the class....he took a whole page of notes :) hehe   Then yesterday and today I got all registered at the hospital, filled out paperwork for Connor's birth certificate and consent forms for immunizations once he is born.  It really hit me that this is really happening and happening soon! I had lunch with a friend today who is 36 weeks pregnant and she was having contractions during lunch....her baby boy will be here any day!  Just makes it so real to see her and think "that will be me in 6 weeks!"

Nursery progress-  I have a long way to go!  Still have not hung anything on the walls or started decorating at all.  I really need to get on that.  Furniture is in and put together, walls are painted, all clothes, towels, blankets, etc.. are washed and put away.  We are going to start putting together the swing, pack-n-play and other equipment soon.  The bedding, shower curtain and window treatments are still being made but hopefully will be done in the next few weeks.  I will do a full post once I have more done and have good pictures to post :)

Our Mexican Babymoon!

This time last week I was laying under a hut on the beach drinking a strawberry daiquiri (virgin of course) and enjoying the last day of our last vacation, just the 2 of us, before Connor makes his debut in May.
We spent Friday, February 22 - Tuesday, February 26 at the Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa in Puerto Morelos, Mexico (half way between Cancun & Playa del Carmen).  It was the most relaxing, laid back vacation I think I have ever had.  We agreed we would look at our phones as little as possible and "get off the grid."  We couldn't do too many of the excursions offered since I was 7 months pregnant, so we stayed at our resort the entire time (except for one little 2 hour outing which I will get to later) and just spent time together, relaxed, ate, swam, got sunburned and enjoyed not having a schedule.  It was the best.

A little about our resort and the part of Mexico it is located in....
Dreams Riviera Cancun is an all inclusive, family friendly resort located in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.  We flew into the island of Cozumel (because we got really cheap flights) then took a 40 minute ferry to the mainland (Playa del Carmen), then took a 30 minute taxi ride north, to the resort.  We left Houston at 8:45 AM and were laying on the beach at the resort by 2:00 PM.  It's one of the reason why we love Mexico so much and go every year....it less than a 2 hour flight from Houston!
So, the resort has 9 restaurants and bars, 3 pools, a swim up bar, a beach bar, nightly entertainment, an amazing spa and the best service.

Our room was amazing!  We had a great view of the pools and the ocean from the bed :)  Love!

We spent our days laying out by the pool or the beach and spent A LOT of time in the infinity pool.  We would have a huge breakfast at the breakfast buffet each morning, then have lunch by the pool or ocean and 2 of the nights we had dinner at the Italian restaurant and Japanese restaurant and 2 nights we just ordered room service.   Hubby got a massage and I got a Vitamin C and Seaweed facial. We took long walks on the beach, hubby played a game of soccer and I read a little.   The only time we left the resort was to go visit the Crococun Zoo.  I have a serious love for monkeys and we had heard this was an interactive zoo where you can feed, hold and pet the animals, so we had to go!  In a one hour, private tour, we got to play with parrots, feed and hang out with spider monkeys, feed deer, I held a crocodile and take pictures with a snake wrapped around our heads.  I am terrified of snakes and my husband was pretty nervous about the crocodiles but we survived!

And now I will leave you with some of my favorite pictures from our trip!

I am so happy and thankful we were able to take this one last trip together before Connor arrives!
Many special memories were made and we came back relaxed and rejuvenated :)
Now....2 months or less until baby boy graces us with his presence!
