{The Best Time of Year in Houston}

Happy Go Texan Day (and Happy Friday to all you non-Texan's)! Yesterday kicked off the best time of year in Houston...RODEO SEASON!

It all started last night with what we call "Cook-Off Weekend." It is basically a TON of tents set up in the parking lot of Reliant Stadium...all with tons of food and drinks, music and dancing. You have to have wrist-bands to get into each tent and sometimes it is really hard to get wrist-bands, especially to the most popular tents. Sunday is the Conoco Phillips Rodeo Run. There is a 5k, 10k and big parade. Cook-Off goes through most of the weekend, then starts 3 weeks of concerts and actual rodeo events. Every night, starting Tuesday night, there is a different concert. This year some of the groups that will be here are- Lady A, Alabama, Kid Rock, Blake Shelton, Reba, Miranda Lambert, Enrique Iglesias and so many more. The here is a livestock area where you can see animals, attend auctions and even see baby (animals) being born. There is a really fun carnival filled with a lot of fun rides and the most fried, fatty food you can find! Like I said- BEST.TIME.OF.YEAR.

I sooooo wish I could come to the Rodeo this year. It's been a couple years since I've been!

And I never thought I'd see Chris in a cowboy hat :)
